Merry Woodland Critter Christmas

Seasons Greetings from the Woodland Critters!  It's Christmas morning and we're celebrating with 24 hours of A Christmas Story, Mike's playing with this new micro mosquito RC helicopter, and I've discovered Gama-Go thanks to my brother's family and the fabulous dog purse they sent me (Megan, how do you always know???).

The dogs are going just nuts over the helicopter, a great idea suggested to me by my lovely staff of women (and their husbands!).  Toys kick ass for boys aged 40 and over!  The minute that thing flies into my head, however, it's going to be a bad idea. 

So from our house to yours, Merry Christmas and happy flying. 

Running to Feed the Hungry

I'm gearing up for Thanksgiving and my quasi-annual event in Sacramento: Run to Feed the Hungry. I've done this race a handful of times, and it's one of those true feel-good charity events.  It's not quite as emotional as the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, but it feels good on a number of different levels.  Not only do proceeds go to a great cause, but you can also get a bit of a workout in on a traditional day of excess.  This year, my 73-year old dad is going to be joining me in the 5K walk.  I had planned to run, but I thought it would be a fun thing for us to do together.

So, if you're looking for something to do on Thursday before you stuff yourself with stuffing, venture out to Sacramento for a stroll with about 15,000 people.  You'll feel good all over, all day.

Finally, pictures of the Clark Holiday, 2004. Just as I was ready to take down the tree, I decided to snap some quick pictures, like I promised my sister-in-law, the first true Christmas fanatic I have ever met. Of course, being new to Christmas, I have a lot of catching up to do. Notice the lack of religious artifacts on our tree. I'll have to take pictures of my Mickey and Minnie menorah I used this year as well...the joys of an interfaith household!
